According to research released by the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) in August 2002, hands-on craft activities actually help elementary school students learn better and retain more. The Academic Value of Hands-on Craft Projects in Elementary Schools Study concluded that many elementary school educators have found hands-on crafts projects to be one of the best techniques to enable students to sustain knowledge while instilling a curiosity for and appreciation of learning.

"No Sew" crafts make it possible for kids to try a project, even if their mothers and fathers are not necessarily good with crafts themselves. If you are seeking a craft to do with your children, you will embrace the ease with which these crafts can be completed and the thought that went into making them, thereby increasing their value not only as a craft, but as a toy and educational experience.

The strategy behind "No Sew" crafts is to supplement, not replace sewn crafts. The idea is to make it possible for young people and non-crafters to experience the joy of making something with their hands and therefore stimulate their desire to try something more challenging. We all know that the feeling of success breeds the desire to "do it again."

Some of the most popular "No Sew" crafts available are Critter Crafts. Critter Crafts are "ready to-stuff-and-love" plush animal kits that come in 3 fun and delightful themes: Farmyard, North Woods and Safari. There are 12 different animal characters to choose from. Each of these beginner-level, craft activity characters is even the star of its own storybook.

In twenty minutes, you can complete a "No Sew" Critter Craft with your child, read the story and share your most valuable commodity, your time.
It's As Easy As 1-2-3

You can even access the Critter Crafts website (www.crittercrafts.com) with your children. On the site they can read all of the stories, play games with their Critters, print out birth certificates and join the "Critter Club."
