
Self-frosting Cake

Serves 4
Ingredients:
1 package yellow cake mix
1 large bag mini-marshmallows
1 can apple pie filling

Directions:
Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Sprinkle mini-marshmallows in bottom of
pan. Prepare cake mix according to package directions; pour over
marshmallows. Pour pie filling over cake batter. Bake at 350° F for at least
30 minutes or until set. As it bakes, the fruit sinks to the bottom and
the marshmallows rise to the top, creating a frosting.
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serving suggestion: This is the basic
recipe, but I also have had tasty results using apricot pie filling, as well as
with using a chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling. Experiment!
