Our busy lives donšt leave a lot of time for family get-togethers,
not to mention time for "planning" family time together. But,
sometimes the planning can be part of the fun.
My suggestion is to let everyone take part in and be responsible
for a portion of the day:
-
prepare/purchase
the food (with mom or dad's help):
main course (sandwiches, chicken, etc.)
drinks
snacks
desserts
-
take a vote for the fun-in-the-sun activity, and gather
materials (if necessary):
walking on trails
playing in the park's playground (if available)
football
horseshoes
kite flying
frisbee
bocci ball
Mom and dad will get stuck with the traditional preparations
such as grabbing blankets and tablecloths, packing plenty
of plastic silverware and trash/recycle bags for clean up
and ensuring that the napkins donšt blow away in the wind.
In the end, the event should be lots of fun, with everyone
feeling they had a part in it!
