2 beads

24 inches vinyl lacing

Directions:
From plastic canvas cut two rectangles measuring sixteen square holes by ten square holes. Take one of the rectangles and cut away the middle, leaving a frame of two square holes around each side. Hold rectangles one on top of the other. Pull vinyl lacing through one corner hole leaving six inches on the end. Pull vinyl lacing in & out of square holes along the outer edge of square holes for three sides. Cut index card down to fit into open side of tag. Write information you want on card. Carefully slide card with information on it through open side. Continue to weave vinyl lacing in & out of square holes, so remaining side is closed. String two beads through the vinyl lacing ends and then lanyard hook. Pull both vinyl lacing ends back through the beads again. Put a small dot of glue into the hole of the top bead and a small dot of glue through the hole of the bottom bead. When glue is dry, trim vinyl lacing ends even with bead.
Name tags and labels are often seen by the general public. Since small children respond to their first name in a friendly manner, it is sometimes better to use a first initial and last name, or a parent's name when labeling children's school clothing & book bags. To avoid using personal information such as home addresses or phone number on nametags or labels, you can use the child's school name & classroom number. Or you can use a cell phone number if you have one.
