Materials:

  • White construction paper, 9x12 inches
  • Acrylic paint
  • Sponge
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Hole Punch
  • Gold paper fasteners
  • Optional stickers and clear self adhesive vinyl covering
Directions:

For covers, sponge paint two sheets of construction paper by dipping sponge lightly into paint, then dabbing lightly onto paper. You can paint a title on the front and add stickers when the paint is dried.

Use ruler and pencil to draw a line on a plain sheet of construction paper, 3/4 inch away from the edge, on the nine inch side of the paper. Draw a dot on the line two inches away from one, and then on the other. Draw another dot 11/2 inches from one of the first dots. Punch holes at dot marks with hole punch. Use this first sheet of paper with holes punched in to trace measurements on to other sheets of paper, punching holes where dots are traced. On unpainted sides of covers trace holes and punch out. For more durable covers, attach clear self-adhesive vinyl covering to front and back. Trim away extra vinyl covering. Put plain sheets of paper with holes punched between the two covers with the painted side facing outward. Push gold paper fasteners through holes and secure fasteners in place.

As a memory book you can collect autographs from friends, paste school articles from the paper, pictures, programs, dance tickets, etc. You can also use this project for a scrapbook for your favorite music group.
