Q
I am a stay-at-home dad raising 3 children: Lacie, 2, Robby, 5, and
Patrick, 7. Lacie always wants to play with whatever her brothers are
playing with. I know that her safety could be in question. What should I
look for when they are playing together?
Dad from USA
A
Dear Dad from USA:
Please keep in mind that toys for the boys such as action figures may have
small parts that come off and your daughter Lacie is at a the age where
everything goes in her mouth. Explain to the boys that when she wants to
play with them, they should play with toys that are big enough for her to
hold. Also, show them the kinds of toys that are too small for Lacie to
play with and encourage them to keep the toys beyond her reach. The older
children will learn responsibility while at the same time learning to take
care of their sister.
