But there will be a few areas where your access is limited if you don't register. Our site's registration form requires users to give us contact information (like name and e-mail address) and demographic information (like zip code, age). E-commerce and Credit Card Security

In the Marketplace area of ParentsTalk, we use the Yahoo! Store as an e-commerce engine. The Yahoo! Store uses a Stronghold secure server. All online transaction through ParentsTalk using the Yahoo! Store are handled with industry-standard 128-bit SSL encryption. When you type your credit card number into the order form, it is sent across the Internet in an encrypted form and decoded when it gets to the Yahoo! Store. For added security, Yahoo! Store also encrypts the credit card number when it is stored on disk, and when it is forwarded to ParentsTalk.

E-commerce and Cookies

When making an online purchase through the Marketplace at ParentsTalk, a cookie will be stored on your computer. A cookie is a piece of data that a Web server gives to a Web browser. It keeps track of when the same browser makes a sequence of clicks on the Web site. Cookies do not give the server any personal information about the person visiting the Web Site. The Yahoo! Store uses cookies to keep track of your shopping cart. Neither Yahoo! Store nor ParentsTalk stores any information on the cookies. The cookies are simply ID-tags that are created in order to keep track of the items you have placed in your shopping cart.
