Serves 6-8

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 cups plain flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 tsp. allspice
• Pinch of salt
• 1 stick of melted butter or margerine
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1/2 cup walnuts
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 2 large apples chopped
• 1 egg

Directions: Preheat oven to 350° F. Cream together butter, flour, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix just until the dough is crumbly, but holds together. Do not over-mix.

Butter or spray a 9" loose bottom pan, or a form on a baking sheet. The sides should be about 2" high. Press the dough into the form and up the sides.

Cook for 45-50 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes.
